Amirul's birthday

Made this 10" cake for Amirul's birthday last month, yellow vanilla cake with choc ganache frosting:

The simplest pancakes

Pancakes are really easy to make. Whenever my kids wanted to eat some, chances are, most of the ingredients are readily available in the fridge.


Pancakes recipe:
1 mug of self raising flour
1 mug of fresh milk
a pinch of salt
1 whole egg


Mix all the ingredients together and cook using a non-stick pan. (use a drop of butter if you want your pancakes to be slightly buttery, or skip the butter for pancakes that looks like the one you eat at McDonald for breakfast). - The above pancakes, as per the picture were without any butter.


Note: 

1. Use self raising flour if you want your pancakes to look plummer than the ordinary 'lempeng'. 
2. It doesn't really matter what size your mug is, so long as the amount of flour equal to the amount of milk. You can also measure using a bowl instead.

Mini chicken pies

Made these scrumptious mini chicken pies yesterday for lunch.

First time buat chicken pie, resipi filling buat ikut logik sendiri. Resipi pie crust dapat dari en. google, tapi ada tukar-tukar sikit based from a few combined recipes. Tasted sooo good, with flaky pie crust n delectable filling, next time boleh buat lagi.

Chocolate cupcakes for year end party

Baked petite chocolate cupcakes for the kids' year end school party that was held on 10th Dec 10. 

Iced them with chocolate ganache...

and sprinkled them with hundreds and thousands...

One more cake please....

This time around, Faiz requested for a chocolate cake instead.

I baked the "perfect all-American chocolate butter cake" for him, recipe from The Cake Bible. Made it into cupcakes, reduced the sugar by 10% and added in some chocolate chips, mmmmm yummy. 

 

Cake please...

Baked this cake again as Faiz had requested for one. Faiz x kesah kek apa sebenarnya, dan memandangkan jam dah pukul 9 mlm, buat pound cake jer la, bagi Faiz puas hati. It took about 10 minutes of my time to mix all the ingredients and pop it into the oven. It's the simplest cake ever :)
